Hero’s- Shoutout to the Troops

I rarely turn on the news anymore. From the election of two evils to hearing about violence across the pond and close by, listening to it each day has become unfortunate. It’s deplorable enough to read the tweets people enjoy to share so eagerly. Liberal guy bashes Conservative while Conservative mocks liberal guy. Some woman complains about jelly bellies having sugar and so for. Congratulations humans. Once again, you’ve ruined something.  It’s like the Michael Jordan vs Lebron James debate. It’s not even worth listening too. As the media covers stories on celebrities or loses their minds over an immature tweet by the president we continue to keep our focus off what is most important.  This week is a week to remember those in the armed forces we have lost. It’s also a good time to give thanks to those who have served, survived and are blessed to still be living. Some are not so lucky.

I find it humorous how on holidays like Memorial Day, people celebrate by shopping or throwing a BBQ. I’m one who does those things as well, so I can’t really bash it fully, yet it’s a little bizarre. How does buying an HD TV 50 percent on sale give thanks to those who had served? I guess we could watch countless hours of Vietnam in HD hmm.

I’ll end this post here with this. Thank you very much to those who have served and given their all. From your ashes, we have risen time and time again. The commander in Chief whether it was President Bush, President Obama or the latest guy do not have the hardest job in the world. Amazing athletes do seem heroic, yet they cannot match to those I’m referring too. You who serve this great nation do. You volunteer…. NO…. you willingly sacrifice yourself to defend this country. You protect people whom you totally disagree with like silly politicians and the people who vote for them.  As John 15:13 says” No greater love is this than for a man to give up his life for a friend.” Thank you to members of the armed forces who are no longer with us nor can read this post I’m sharing. It goes out to all of you. Whether we tweet it meaningfully  or not you’re our real hero’s, because real hero’s do not wear capes, they wear dog tags.

Another Writing Update :)

After months of researching, creating drafts, and deleting many drafts I’ve finally brewed the plot of my story. Yesterday I wrote out 528 words to begin my first draft. I finally feel satisfied with my idea and will continue to develop the story as more ideas pop into my head. I’m thrilled to get over this hump.  I fell down the rabbit hole and have found my way to escape the Red Queen’s clutches. As I critic my CP’s work and get tips from them I’ve developed so much as a writer. Things are much easier to handle when you understand what you’ve been doing wrong. One of my CP’s said she thinks I have a series on my hands. I can’t wait to share this story with the world. From each idea that pops into my mind I’m getting ideas for future novels as well. My dream has always been to create novels and publish them. This dream is becoming a reality.  I’m anxious to know what God has in store for me next.

Finish the Sentence #5- Writing Prompts Week One

{ Sup guys? I’ve been looking over writing Prompts online. These ideas got me thinking about something cool we all could do together on WordPress. Basically I create or share  a writing prompt for each week. Writers who read and of course share this post, can post their own version of the prompts. Sounds fun, right? If you also have any writing prompt ideas, don’t be afraid to share your thoughts with the group. Today’s prompt is Finish the Sentence. This prompt come’s from one of my favorite sites called Creative Digest.  The title of this prompt is” You Never Expected a Call From Me.” to Quote Alfredo Linguni from Ratatouille” Lets do this thing!”( the goal is 500 words or more 🙂

( this is the prompt for this week) “Hello,” said the voice on the phone. “My name is __________. I know you never expected a call from me, as famous as I am, but I’ve been given your name as someone who can help me _______.” (Write a story that follows this line.)  500 words or fewer. Lets do this thing!)

” Hello,” said a voice on the phone.” My name is JK Rowling. I know you never expected a call from me, as famous as I am, but I’ve been given your name as someone who can help me with my latest plot for an upcoming story,”

” Hello?” I ask unsure if this is some type of prank. If they ask for my debit card I’ll know for sure it is fake. Last week someone called about a fancy boat reward. Do they think I was born yesterday? Is JK Rowling really going to call me, although whoever it is does sound like her” Who is calling again?”

“ My name is JK Rowling. I’m an author who wrote a famous novel about a boy wizard. I heard you enjoy that story very much.  I know this seems like some prank, but it’s really me,”

“ Wow really. No offense, but why are you calling me?”

“ I understand. I’m working on a new novel which takes place in central Florida. An anonymous source told me to contact you. I will be flying into Orlando in a few days. I would like you to give me some information about the state you reside in.”

I nearly fall over. How is this happening? If this is a dream, I hope to never wake up” Ok, sounds like a plan. Is there anything I need to get you before you arrive?”

“Only a proper good night sleep will do. I’ve also heard you’re writing a story. From what I’ve been told,  it’s a promising start. Congratulations.”

“ Thsnk you so much. I actually became a writer, because of you,” I probably sound  like a huge nerd, but I’m too overwhelmed to care.

“ I’m grateful to know I gave you inspiration. Writing is a difficult, yet also a very rewarding skill. I would like to give you some advice for your journey in writing. Writing is a journey and with proper direction you will go further then you ever imagined,”

“ Are you serious? This has to be a dream,” I slid to the floor mesmerized.

“ I assure you Mr. Wells this is not a dream. First off, what do you think of your writing?”

“ I don’t really know. Most of my critic partners tell me it looks good,”

“ No, I didn’t ask you what they think. What do you think?” The story is up to you, not them. These characters breathe, because you gave them life like God did with Adam and Eve in the beginning. It’s now up to you to lead them along this path,”

“ Ok, I think my story is good. It has a long way to go before publication, yet it gives me chills just thinking about it,”

“ Yes, I had the same feeling with most of my stories. It’s good to feel proud of your success. Don’t let anyone ever tell you you’re not good enough. Some will love what you write. Others might hate it. That is life. Do you hear voices in your head?”

“ I’m sorry, but what do you mean?” what could she possibly mean?

“ Do your characters speak to you? Do you feel their presence? Do they come to you when they’re in pain?”

“ I think so. Did Harry Potter do that with you?” I hear her laugh on the other end. JK Rowling actually laughed at one of my corny jokes.

“ Oh yes. Harry came to me, many times. That is good to hear that you care about your characters. Characters can’t get anything done without us,”

“ Miss. Rowling may I ask you a question?”

“ Matthew, please just call me Joe,”

“ Does it hurt when you write? Like sometimes I feel kind of drained from writing, but I don’t stop,”

“ Everytime. Do you remember when Dolores Umbridge had Harry write I must not tell lies, with the quill in her office?”

“ Of course. I hate that woman. She’s terrible. Personally I find Voldemort more appealing,”

“ At least you didn’t have to write her. Her voice annoys me the most.  Anyways,  that is exactly how writing is.  The soul is damaged by what we write or reveal to ourselves through writing.  It can change a person. The more we write,  the more it hurts us. Each of the words leave  a mark like an invisible tattoo. Does the pain bother you?”

“ Not really. I’m kind of immune to pain, by now. It’s a long story,”

“ And a story worth telling I bet. Well Matt, I think you’re on the right track. Never give up on your dreams. Not only will your books help you financially, yet they will cure so many people’s hearts”

“ Yeah. That is exactly what I want my stories to do. Help people Thank you Joe. I’ll always appreciate what you did for me and the rest of us Potterheads.”

“ It was my pleasure. Best of luck to you in your writing adventures.”

( So that was my story for this prompt. Please show me yours. I can’t wait to read what everyone else posts and continue this for the weeks ahead.)

Little Nightmares(PS4) Theory on Game’s Message

First off, Happy Mother’s Day! Go tell your mom you love her and give her a  hug for me. Ok, skip the hug for me part, because that sounded weird. Recently I’ve played and completed a creepy, little game  called Little Nightmares. The game was amazing. Very short, yet a ton of fun. The  ending sort of left me with the shock faced emoji. It left me desiring more, so I wanted to share some of my thoughts on what this game’s purpose is and all of that jazz. This is only my theory 🙂

Ok, so in Little Nightmare’s you play as a nine year old child named Six.   Six wanders around a mysterious ship full of quirky characters. Basically you start out on the bottom of the ship and make your way to the top to escape. She gets chased by a kidnapper with freakishly long arms, two speedy chief’s and finally a mysterious woman with some type of energy reducing magic. The game ends with Six escaping the ship, yet danger could be lurking close by.

Like TheRadBrad said on his channel” This is a vegetarian’s nightmare,” Constantly we see chunky sized sailors on board this cruise ship. They eat raw meat like it’s their final meal. The mysterious woman seems to have some type of control over them. I think of her like the evil witch from Snow White and the Seven Dwarf’s. She finds herself ugly. By using her  dark magic, she’s making everyone else around her uglier then she believe’s she is.  Many agree that Six and this woman are perhaps related. Some argue the mother found Six’s beauty as a threat, so she tried removing she and her husband. I think this game was representing a broken family.  This game hardly touches on other notable figures such as the gnomes, the children, and other things lurking about the ship. There were so many questions left unanswered, so I’m positive they will create a sequel  to this creepy, yet  beautiful game.

So those are some of my thoughts about this game. If you want to play something entertaining, check out Little Nightmares! Take care guys.

Trip to the Magic Kingdom

 Greetings and happy Saturday,

Yesterday I went on a trip to Disneyworld’s Magic Kingdom. The Magic Kingdom is my favorite park. It’s just the best park and there is no reason to argue against it. Anyways I took some pics and wanted to share with y’all how the day went. Sounds fun right?

The travel to our destination went pretty well. Clearly the snowbirds are leaving which is good news. When entering the park you have two separate means of transportation to the Magic Kingdom. Either by a ferryboat or monorail. First we took the ferryboat and then the monorail later on when we left the park. I got a pretty sweet shot of Cinderella’s Castle on the ride over to the park.

When inside the Magic Kingdom, I went on a few rides in each of the park’s attractions. First we went over to Tomorrowland. It brought back horrid memories of the George Clooney Film. I liked the ride which zooms you across the attraction. The Carousal of Progress is a classic ride. I felt pity for the man who was getting roasted at the Monster Inc Laugh Studio.  Next I went to Adventureland!

The walk through of the Smith Family Robertson treehouse was pretty neat. Being a writer, living in a tree house on some island or in a African  jungle would be mostly peaceful.

I also went over to Tom Sawyer’s Island. The water looked a little murky, yet beautiful at the same time.#FloridaProblems

I had never been to the TIKI Room before. I thought there would be more TIKI’S instead of birds, yet the show was pretty cool. The birds looked so realistic.

Toward the end of the journey,  a magical train brought us over to Fantasyland. This train was nice, yet the Hogwarts Express is way better. In Fantasyland, I went on It’s a Small World. It’s a pretty  cool ride, but they need more of a soundtrack, because that song was putting  me to sleep near the end. It may be a small world, yet there was a very long line. Sadly I missed out on Peter Pan’s flight, but I’ll see if anyone has recorded a video of it on YouTube.

My favorite rides are the Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. When I first arrived to Pirates of the Caribbean, Jack Sparrow was out front entertaining a crowd. Sadly the ride was closed for repairs of some sort. Worst of all, the Tortuga food venue was all out of hotdogs. How could they run out of hotdogs at noon on Friday? I have no clue. Luckily they got more hot dogs and  the ride working smoothly again.

I also got an epic shot near Cinderella’s Castle. I was glad to not interfere with this man who was proposing to his girlfriend. FYI, she said yes! I find it amusing how European’s  travel to the Magic Kingdom to see Cinderella’s Castle when they have so many brilliant castles in their back yard.

Like Walt Disney once said” I only hope we never lose sight of one thing. It was all started by a mouse.” In addition, I also hope we never lose sight of the Creator who created this wonderful, magical world. If you can dream it, you can do it.

Life Update :)

Hello. Sorry I haven’t been blogging as much, but I’ve been away. Life has been a little hectic. You don’t want to know. Anyways I wanted to update all my followers.

I haven’t exactly found out if I passed my History class, yet after reviewing I feel like I aced it. In the beginning of the semester, I felt like I was going to fail this class. I couldn’t understand how to study for this course. It was difficult, yet I found a way.

Lately  with all of this free time on my hands, I’ve been writing. Recently I finished the plot and have already written out the first chapter. Writing a story is time consuming. It can also be stressful, so I’ve been figuring out how to keep myself from going overboard. There is so much to remember.

My twitter account has almost reached 600 followers. I’m a little surprised that many random people follow me, but it makes me happy. Maybe I know a thing or two? I’d like to buy a bundle of Funko Pop toys. They’re so adorable and make a bookcase look extra special.

Since I was busy with school I haven’t been  reading as much, but I have been reading from two novels in April( Jay Asher’s Thirteen Reason’s Why and Susan Denard’s Truthwitch). I hope to get back into my regular reading schedule. On Friday, I will be visiting the Magic Kingdom. This is my favorite Disney park, so I’m sure I’ll have a good time. The Haunted Mansion is my favorite park. Anyways, enough about me. What have you guys been up to recently? Got any traveling plans? What books are you reading? It was nice to come back on WordPress and chat with you all, but I’ve got to go. Take care.
